Twitter rolls out 280-character tweets worldwide
Micro-blogging website Twitter this week announced that it is ending its iconic 140-character limit and giving nearly everyone 280 characters instead. Users tweeting in Chinese, Japanese and Korean will still have the original limit. That's because writing in those languages uses fewer characters. The company says 9 percent of tweets written in English hit the 140-character limit. People end up spending more time editing tweets or don't send them out at all. With this move, Twitter hopes to get more people to tweet.

Huawei Fit, Band 2 and Band 2 Pro fitness trackers launched in India
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has expanded its wearable series with the launch of Huawei Band 2, Band 2 Pro and Huawei Fit. All three devices are available across various retail and online stores in the country. The Huawei Fit is priced at Rs 9,999 and it comes in two sizes and three colours - Black, Blue and Orange. Featuring a watch-like design, Huawei Fit comes with a heart rate monitor and can keep track of steps, sleep and offers support for activities like running, cycling, treadmill and swimming. On the other hand, the Huawei Band 2 and Band 2 Pro come with a price tag of Rs 4,999 and 6,999 respectively. Huawei Band 2 and Band 2 Pro offer 24x7 heart rate monitoring. The former comes with VO2 Max technology, which measures the amount of oxygen a user can intake.

Flipkart Billion Capture+ smartphone gets launched in India

Flipkart has launched its new 'Made for India' smartphone called the Billion Capture+. The device will be going on sales from November 15. The Flipkart Billion Capture+ comes in two variants based on 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM configurations. The 3GB RAM version costs Rs 10,999, while the 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 12,999. The Flipkart Billion Capture+ runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box and is promised to get Android 8.0 Oreo in future. It has a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by the mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. One of the highlights of the smartphone is the dual rear camera setup. The Billion Capture+ features two 13MP rear cameras (monochrome+RGB) that aim to deliver sharp and bright images in low light situations. The cameras come with dual tone LED flash. At the front, users get an 8MP camera.


Reliance Jio introduces triple cashback offer

Reliance Jio has rolled out some new offers and cashback for its Jio Prime members. The company has announced triple cashback offer which includes the 100% cashback that offers vouchers of worth Rs 400 on the recharge of Rs 399 and above. Along with this, Jio has also introduced some offers exclusively for the Jio Prime members. The company said that the Jio Prime members will get cashback of up to Rs 2,599 on every recharge. Prime members can get triple cash back up to Rs. 2599 for every recharge of Rs. 399 and above. The cashback will include vouchers of worth Rs 400. Instant cashback on recharge done using Jio's partner wallets.


LG launches its new range of air purifiers in India

Keeping in mind the rising concern over deteriorating air quality which is a result of growing air pollution in the country, LG Electronics has announced the launch of its Air Purifiers range- LG PuriCare. The company has introduced three models in the series - LG PuriCare AS40GWWKO, LG PuriCare AS60GDWTO, LG PuriCare AS95GDWTO. The devices will be available across leading online and offline stores in the country.
