This Xiaomi smartphone is getting Android Nougat update in IndiaNEW DELHI: Recently, we reported that Xiaomi will soon start rolling out Android Nougat update for its Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The company has officially started rolling out the update in India as the MIUI8.5.4.0 will bring Android Nougat 7.0 for the Redmi Note 4 users. The company is testing the update and it is available only to some select users.


The update is 1.3GB in size and will gradually roll out for all Note 4 users. The update is said to bring features like screen recorder, split screen view. The company is also taking feedback on the update in order to fix the bugs available in the test update.


To recall, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in January this year in India. Redmi Note 4sports a metallic unibody with round edges. It has a 5.5-inch full HD display, offering wide-viewing angles. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. Users can further expand storage up to 128GB by installing a microSD card. The smartphone comes in three variants -- 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.


It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with the company's native MI UI 8 skin. It is backed by a 4100mAh battery and also comes with an IR blaster and the Mi remote control app. On the camera front, the Note 4 has a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 5MP front camera. The dual-sim smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass and micro-USB as connectivity options.


As for the price, the Chinese manufacturer has priced the 2GB RAM version at Rs 9,999, the 3GB RAM variant at Rs 10,999 and the 4GB RAM variant at Rs 12,999.
