Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Now Available in Open Sale in India via Flipkart, Mi.com
Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4 is now available online in India in open sale - meaning there will no longer be any flash sale dates or queuing up, instead consumers can head to Flipkart and Mi.com and buy the smartphone at any time, as long as stocks are available. The smartphone ever since its launch in January has been available on select dates with limited stocks. The open sale announcement for theXiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes merely few days after the company announced that it managed to sell 5 million units of the handset in the country. The company claimed that it sold 5 million units of its Redmi Note 4 within six months of launch between a period of January 23 to July 23 this year. As we mentioned, the smartphone will now be available in open sale via Flipkart and Mi.com.
"Your love has broken all the barriers! #RedmiNote4 now on open sale on Mi.com and Flipkart," wrote Manu Kumar Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India in a tweet on Wednesday. As we mentioned, company achieved the 5 million unit sales feat within six months of launch between a period of January 23 to July 23 this year.
Jain's tweet also contains the words 'Now With Android N', pointing to the recent rollout of an Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI update for Redmi Note 4 users. The update arrived via OTA, and the users were receiving the MIUI version 8.5.4.0 based on Nougat. The update, sized at 1.3GB, also brought along the July Android security patch with it. Interestingly, the Android 7.0 Nougat update was not based on MIUI 9.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in January this year in three memory/ storage variants in India - the 2GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage model has been priced at Rs. 9,999, the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 10,999, while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model has been priced at Rs. 12,999.
To refresh on the specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full-HD 2.5D curved glass IPS display with a 401ppi pixel density, and is powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC. It comes with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, depending on the SKU. There's a 13-megapixel CMOS sensor at the back, and a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor at the front. As for connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 offers 4G with VoLTE. The battery capacity is rated at 4100mAh battery.
