Just a month after launching the Gionee A1 Plus, the Chinese smartphone maker today launched a lighter version of the smartphone in India. Called theGionee A1 Lite, the smartphone is priced at Rs 14,999 and will be available for purchase across all offline retail stores starting August 10. The Gionee A1 Lite will be available in two color options – gold and black.
For the Gionee A1 Lite, the company has also partnered with Airtel India and Paytm to offer its customers some added benefits. Under this partnership, new or existing Airtel customers who purchase the Gionee A1 Lite will get additional 10GB data per month for six months on any data recharge of 1GB and above. In addition to that, every purchase of Gionee A1 Lite will be accompanied with two Paytm cashback voucher codes, which will entitle customers with Rs 250 cashback on a minimum purchase of Rs 350 on the PayTM Mall.

The highlight of the Gionee A1 Lite is surely its front camera and the big battery. The smartphone features a 20-megapixel front camera, which comes with a customized selfie flash. The front camera employs Gionee’s 4-cell technology, which allows it to capture more light, resulting in brighter and clearer selfies. It is further equipped with Gionee’s facial enhancement algorithm, which detects a user’s face and applies custom beauty settings.

Gionee A1 Lite specifications and features

ard.A tinier version of the Gionee A1 Plus, the Gionee A1 Lite features a 5.3-inch HD display with 2.5D glass on top and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone measures 150.5 x 74.4 x 8mm. Under the hood, the Gionee A1 Lite is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz octa-core MediatTek 6753V/WA processor which is accompanied with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage of the smartphone is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD cARD
For photography, besides the 20-megapixel front camera, the Gionee A1 Lite sports a 13-megapixel camera at the rear. At the back of the device, the Gionee A1 Lite features a fingerprint sensor, which Gionee claims unlocks the phone in just 0.3 seconds. The smartphone also support 4G VoLTE connectivity.
At the given price and specification, the Gionee A1 Lite will be head-on in competition with other smartphones such as Moto G5 PlusLG Q6, andLenovo Vibe K5 Note.
