Honor V9 Play launched: Another budget smartphone from the company
September seems to be an exciting month for smartphone fans as many new devices have been launched in the past couple of days from brands like LG, Xiaomi, Motorola, Sony and more. Besides, we are also expecting to see some more exciting launches in the days to come, the most anticipated one being the Apple iPhone.
While we wait for new smartphones, Huawei's sub-brand Honor has yet again launched another smartphone in the market. Dubbed as Honor V9 Play the company has launched the device in China for now. It is further set to go on sale starting September 12. Moving forward, Honor V9 Play has been launched in two RAM variants. One will be a 3GB RAM version which is priced at CNY 999 (approximately Rs. 9,800) and there another one, the 4GB RAM version which is priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 11,700). Some of the key highlights of the smartphone are Android Nougat OS, fingerprint scanner, and better cameras. Let's look at the features and specs in detail.
Display, Processor and Storage Apart from the design, Honor V9 Play features a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top for added protection and 65-percent NTSC color gamut. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core SoC which is paired with Mali T860 GPU. The handset offers 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
Cameras, Battery and Software As for the optics, Honor V9 Play is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash support, PDAF, and 5P lens. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery that is said to deliver 16 hours of talk time and 15 days of standby time. The handset runs on EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat
